Notre-Dame De Grâce Hospital

Charleroi, BELGIUM

Notre-Dame De Grâce Hospital
The Mapwize application allows patients to choose their location and get from point A to point B using their smartphones without the need to go through reception areas. We are very satisfied of the solution which was deployed in less than 2 weeks with few resources were required.

The Notre-Dame De Grâce Hospital in Belgium was the first hospital in Wallonia to propose indoor wayfinding. The Mapwize team gave a hand to redesign the map while the team at the hospital used Mapwize Studio to set up all the points of interest. QR-Codes have quickly been deployed in the building to allow for geolocation.

The COVID-19 pandemic has forced lots of buildings to redesign their layout to limit physical contact and reduce the spread of the virus. This was especially true for hospitals that had to prepare for the massive arrival of COVID-infected patients. In order to limit contaminations, hospitals reorganized their buildings into COVID and non-COVID zones. Entire units, floors, hallways and elevators have been dedicated to COVID patients.

The CNDG, has restructured all of its buildings in just a few days and launched a new COVID-19 map at the same time: “With Mapwize, the hospital floor plans have been easily modified to highlight the new layout and routes set up for COVID-19. We were able to quickly make critical information available to our staff, patients and external partners, on multiple supports: directly on the Mapwize app, on screen displays and on paper.” said David RENAUT, Infrastructure and Procurement Director.
