Mapwize, the mapping and wayfinding platform for buildings, has finalized their 1.2 million euros fundraising. Backers behind the fundraising include Finorpa and IRD investment funds, with the support of BPI France and BNP-Paribas.
This financial injection serves to reinforce the means available to Mapwize to accelerate its growth and solidify its leading market position in indoor mapping for smart buildings. Concretely, this investment will enable Mapwize to embark on an ambitious R&D initiative as well as expand its sales efforts. This new agenda also entails a significant recruitment drive, with a dozen new hires expected before the end of the year.
Self-financed since its formation in 2014 by co-founders Mederic Morel and Mathieu Gerard, today Mapwize has more than a dozen collaborators. Its indoor mapping and wayfinding solution for buildings has already been deployed across 3 million square meters throughout Europe, the U.S., and Asia. The client list includes some thirty different companies, including BNP-Paribas, Klepierre, SNCF, Ecole Polytechnique, as well as two large American accounts.
Headquartered in Lille, France and based at Euratechnologies, Mapwize has the benefit of being included in both the Cisco acceleration program and the Microsoft Bizspark+ initiative. Mapwize also proudly represents French Tech at some of the world’s largest exhibitions, notably CES in Las Vegas, Web Summit, Mobile World Congress, as well as RISE in Hong Kong. On these occasions, Mapwize was the recipient of several awards including the Pitch in the Plane and French IoT competitions.
