Have you ever thought about interfacing your existing equipment with indoor maps?
Wilfrid Laurier University is equipped with NFC card scanners installed across campus. Due to the ongoing pandemic, all visitors, staff and students who are approved to return to campus need to scan their Laurier ID cards when accessing a building, as well as some indoor spaces. The university has seen an opportunity to use their campus maps to track which areas are most often accessed: a card scan activity heat map.
This new map view, which did not require any new hardware investment, enables Wilfrid Laurier to see the most active areas and the most popular places on campus. In particular, they can:
